A franchisee is bringing a chicken wing chain’s first dine-in restaurant to San Antonio, with plans to open nine more in the city.
Atlanta-based Wing Zone has negotiated a deal with Brad Meltzer to open 10 restaurants in the city as part of the Grill & Tap concept, which offers table service and serves beer and wine, unlike existing Wing Zone locations, which primarily offer carry-out and delivery.
The first official Grill & Tap restaurant opened Jan. 30 at 7863 Callaghan Road on the Northwest Side. Wing Zone said the company and Meltzer also plan to open 10 locations in Austin.
Meltzer, who owns two Benihana restaurants, one each in San Antonio and Austin, said he is opening the new wing restaurants over the next three years.
