Frackville McDonald’s Helps Employee Whose Family Lost Home In Fire

Republican & Herald:

The McDonald’s outside the Schuylkill Mall helped one of its own Thursday evening by raising funds for its assistant manager’s family whose home was destroyed by fire earlier this year.

Owner/operator Roland Kissinger gave some of the proceeds from the recently remodeled restaurant’s reopening celebration to assistant manager Greg Humpf, his father, mother and sister. The family is recovering from the Jan. 2 fire that destroyed their home at 526 W. Howard St., Frackville. The fire destroyed or severely damaged properties from 518 to 532 W. Howard St.

Restaurant employees invited the community to help them turn “Dinner into Dollars.” From Feb. 1 until Thursday, one dollar of every Big Mac Value Meal sale was donated to Humpf and his family. In addition, people could donate for a card that was displayed in the restaurant. The “Have a Heart” fundraiser was also held in McDonald’s restaurants in Shamokin, Elysburg, Berwick, Bloomsburg and Mifflinville.
