Daytona Beach and Port Orange will each be getting their own Dickey’s Barbecue Pit franchise in the near future, the company announced Thursday.
John E. Dethlefs, 40, of Palm Coast, is the franchisee for both restaurants. The exact locations are still to be determined as no leases have been signed.
Dethlefs, who just returned from a deployment with the Florida National Guard to Kuwait and Iraq, said he was looking to start a new career and stumbled upon Dickey’s. He was impressed with the company’s profitability and low start-up franchise cost, he said.
