Saskatoon Entrepreneur Got His Start Franchising Lemonade Stands At Age Seven

It’s been more than 20 years since Michael Scissons’ first appearance in The StarPhoenix for a business accomplishment, which is pretty impressive for a 27-year-old.

Last month, Scissons’ current venture, Syncapse Corp., received a $25- million investment from American growth equity firm ABS Capital Partners. Syncapse is the latest in a long line of business successes the Saskatoon native has been involved in.

When he was only six years old, Scissons’ lemonade stand was so successful that he franchised it, employing other kids to run locations around the neighbourhood. It was this venture that earned him his first bit of news coverage.
