As students throughout the state prepare for the AIMS exam, Valley school officials and a fast-food chain are working to ensure children don’t take the test on an empty stomach.
In a first, nearly 280 McDonald’s restaurants in the Valley and in northern Arizona will offer a free breakfast sandwich and drink to third- through eighth-graders Monday morning.
“We’re trying to get these students fueled up by offering a free Egg McMuffin with a small orange juice, milk or apple juice,” said Jerry Gehrke, a McDonald’s spokesman.
