Dave Rather wants to bring Mother’s Federal Hill Grille to the suburbs.
The owner of the popular Federal Hill hangout is looking to buy existing restaurant locations in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties to create more company stores before eventually embarking on franchising the Mother’s brand.
Ideally, Rather would like to open two locations — one south and one north of his current Federal Hill location. But he also hasn’t ruled out purchasing three or four, potentially spending as much as $15 million for one.
