Taco Bell To Build New Store On South Duff Avenue

Ames Tribune:

A Chicago-area franchisee that closed its Taco Bell restaurant at the intersection of West Lincoln Way and Sheldon Avenue last year is about to build a new Taco Bell at 421 S. Duff Ave.

Schaumburg, Ill.-based QSR, Inc. owns all the Taco Bell restaurants in the Des Moines metro area and a total of 30 stores in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Its new Ames location will be to be the site of Old George’s Pizza, according to QSR President and Chief Operating Officer Barbara Lucas. She said the new Ames store will be 2,800 square feet, with seating for 50 and a double drive-through window.

“It’s probably going to be the most expensive store we’ve ever opened (because of the price of real estate),” Lucas said Wednesday.
