Adding Whatcom County Jobs Is A Goal For McDonald’s This Week

Private sector job creation is crucial at this stage of the economic recovery, and later this week one company will be doing its part, both locally and nationally.

On Tuesday, April 19, McDonald’s and its franchisees will attempt to add 50,000 people to its manager and crew positions as part of its national hiring initiative. In Western Washington, the company is hoping to add 640 people, while in Whatcom County the goal is around 30 people for part-time and full-time positions at the eight area restaurants.

This is the second year McDonald’s is doing this hiring initiative. Last year, about 24 people were hired locally in various positions, said Jim Campbell, owner and operator of the Whatcom County McDonald’s. Read more.
