Chennai-based MRF Tyres’ seventh facility is on its way, while the company will increase the number of franchisees to maintain its dominance in the domestic market.
MRF plans to start operations at its new Rs 900-crore facility in Thiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, by the end of this year.
“We are planning to begin operations from our new plant in Trichi at the end of this year. It will be our seventh plant in the country and will produce truck tyres and radials,†said Rajat K. Nangia, deputy general manager of MRF Ltd, at the launch of a franchise here today.
The company’s other facilities are in Goa, Medak in Andhra Pradesh, Tiruvottiyur and Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kottayam in Kerala.
