Golden Corral Set To Reopen Its Port Richey Restaurant

Tbo.com:

Golden Corral is cooking up plans to reopen its Port Richey location after a franchisee abruptly closed the buffet restaurant in October.

“The company is remodeling the restaurant and will reopen it soon as a company-operated store,” said Bob McDevitt, senior vice president of marketing and franchise operations.

McDevitt, who works at the restaurant’s headquarters in Raleigh, N.C., confirmed the plans in an email. He said it might take at least two to three months before the site is ready for customers.

Workers have been busy with renovations inside and outside of restaurant No. 788 at 8928 U.S. 19.

The Port Richey eatery was popular until problems surfaced in 2009 and 2010 for the former franchisee. A limited liability corporation controlled by Guillermo Perales, who is based in Dallas, had operated the local restaurant.
