Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is planning to double its presence in Britain within the next five years. The plan is headed by franchisee Krispy Kreme UK Ltd.

According to the Associated Press, the expansion is in response to increasing consumer demand. Revenue for the UK based stores was up nearly 13 percent compared to last year.

Currently, North Carolina-based Krispy Kreme has 47 stores in the state. It anticipates having nearly 100 by the year 2016. Krispy Kreme first entered the U.K. in 2003.
