A New Energy

South Bend Tribune:

Jim Dunfee, a prominent Michiana Realtor and Century 21 franchisee since 1977, switched to Weichert Realty after deciding that the growing East Coast-based firm offers a more agile approach to new market realities.

Jim Weichert, who started his own company in New England, owned 250 offices in the Northeast when a former Century 21 executive vice president suggested franchising.

Since then, 250 franchises have joined Weichert, which has 18,000 Realtors in 36 states. Landing Dunfee’s agency was such an important move that the company financed a billboard campaign to announce the switch.

“Weichert has built a better mousetrap in the real estate industry of today,” said Dunfee, who investigated options when his 10-year contract with Century 21 was up for renewal and joined the firm on Dec. 1.

“Weichert kept it simple. He focused on three or four major areas. Instead of overcomplicating the issue, we’re getting back to the basics of the real estate industry that work. We just work hard.”
