The Blockbuster store just south of K-15 and Buckner in Derby is expected to close by the end of the month, according to Ryan Wasinger of local franchisee Fugate Enterprises.
The Derby Informer reports Fugate doesn’t plan to sell the building, but the company has “been in discussion with some potential users.”
Fugate Enterprises, which also operates Taco Bell and Pizza Hut stores, has closed several Wichita Blockbuster stores in the past year. At the corporate level, Blockbuster is undergoing bankruptcy reorganization.
