Wowcow’s Frozen Yogurt Store Concept To Franchise

Franchising.net.au:

Australians have a taste for frozen yogurt and it’s a taste that dessert business Wowcow is now ready to feed through franchising. The yogurt and dessert lounge concept started in Sydney’s northern beaches at Wahroonga Mall, in 2008 and a year later outlet relocated to Victoria Street in Darlinghurst.

Wowcow founder Carl Harwin had previously built a smoothies brand in South Africa, taking it to 30 stores in eight years. He landed in Australia from his native US after the GFC, and recognised the opportunity for frozen yogurt in the Australian market.

”I thought frozen yogurt could be the next big thing,” he told Franchising. “No-one has built a substantial brand here. We’re also a dessert lounge with a wider offer. There’s enough variety to bring customers in all year.” Included on the menu are 15 flavours of frozen yogurt, a version of chocolate topped baked churros called Wow Sticks, chocolate soufflé, fresh fruit smoothies and hot chocolate.
