Jacksonville’s First Tasti D-Lite Will Open In Five Points

Florida Times-Union (blog):

Jacksonville’s first taste of Tasti D-Lite comes in a little over a month when the frozen dessert chain opens its first Northeast Florida restaurant in Five Points.

Franchisee Steve Burnett said he plans to open at 1024 Park St. in early August. On Friday, he was busy emptying the former Florida Creamery storefront that closed earlier this month. (The original Avondale location remains open.)

Tasti D-Light’s lower-calorie frozen dessert is sold in more than 50 stores across 12 states. That includes more than 18 stores in New York’s Manhattan borough, where the treat was first served 24 years ago, according to the company’s website.

The Five Points store will be the seventh in Florida, the first outside of Sarasota and South Florida.

It’s Tasti D-Lite’s proprietary recipe that allows the frozen treat to be “lower in calories, carbs and sugar than ice cream and leading frozen yogurt brands.”
