Louise Becker, owner of MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery in Colorado Springs, was recently honored as the MaggieMoo’s franchisee of the year — an award that would have been sweeter if her husband, Bob, had been there.
The two of them opened the MaggieMoo’s franchise here a decade ago. Bob died of cancer in 2009.
“It was a lot of work to get the franchise going,†Louise Becker said, “and I only wish he had been part of the awards ceremony.â€
The couple opened their first MaggieMoo’s on Woodmen Road in 2001 and another at The Promenade Shops at Briargate the next year. They were often seeing the same customers at both stores, and the Woodmen location was not as profitable, Louise Becker said, so they closed that store in 2006. Read full post here.
