Youngsters Join Litter Blitz

Worcester Standard:

Young footballers teamed up with staff from a local fast food restaurant to give litter the boot along a stretch of the city’s riverside. Volunteers from St John’s Colts FC were joined by McDonald’s franchisee Trevor Smith and employees from his city restaurants in tackling little along Bromwich Parade by the River Severn.

The 20-strong team, which also included volunteers from the city council, collected five bags of litter from along the parade, which has become a problem area for people dropping their rubbish.

The litter-pick was held in support of Keep Britain Tidy’s The Big Tidy Up campaign, which encourages volunteers to help keep their local area clean and tidy by collecting as much litter as possible.
