Around mid-morning most weekend days, I find myself lined up in my car, usually behind at least four or five others, in the drive-through of the Dutch Bros. Coffee outlet at the corner of Adams and Fifth.
I take a large Americano half-caf with two Splendas and milk. My wife’s preference is a regular-sized half-caf latte, either iced or hot, depending on her mood and prevailing weather conditions.
By the time I reach the window, the baristas have my Americano ready and are waiting for me to tell them which way the latte should be prepared that day. They also know to ask whether or not a cranberry-orange muffin top should be included in the order.
