World renowned restaurant chain, Subway is this month scheduled to open an outlet in Kabwe with an initial investment of K1.5 billion on franchise basis.
Speaking in an interview unit manager David Chomba said the chain restaurant, which boasts of having one of the largest restaurant spaces in the southern African region, will be the only outlet operating outside Lusaka.
He said the opening of the outlet in Kabwe will benefit local residents because it will create job opportunities and empower farmers as there would be an increase in demand for their commodities such as vegetables and other agricultural produce.
The investment will additionally benefit other local business entities such as producers of cheese, flour and livestock.
