McDonalds Gives Happy Meal A Healthy Makeover

BSCkids:

McDonalds declares a healthier Happy Meal with more fruit and less fries. This is starting in September of this year.

The Happy Meal will be a more nutritious fare. The kid’s combo will have one quarter cup of apples (half a serving) and 1.1 ounces of fries down from 2.4 ounces. This meal will cut out 130 calories. Customers can exchange the fries for an extra serving of apples. McDonalds changes are in accordance with the 2010 Dietary Guidelines.

I agree that people are becoming too heavy and need to eat better. Apple slices are a good alternative. But french fries in moderation don’t hurt anyone either. I think with people always on the go and hardly ever sitting down together to a family meal, fast food is a temptation. More.
