The St. Louis operator of eight Chevys Mexican Restaurants, T&J Restaurants LLC, headed by John Whicker, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is closing two locations as the business restructures.
T&J already has closed its Columbia, Mo., restaurant and will close a second location in the St. Louis area at the Saint Louis Mills in Hazelwood, Whicker said.
He said he expects to offer jobs to as many as 50 of the 100 employees impacted by the closings. T&J had employed 450 people at the time of the bankruptcy filing and before closing any restaurants.
