Franchising in Europe is all about growth and being consistent, whether you are selling hamburgers or vacation accommodations. These concepts can serve as good lessons for franchisees here in the states who are looking to get ahead in this dire economy.

Franchises are far more accepted as a means to do business in the rest of Europe than in Great Britain, wrote Val Jones in Guardian Professional. She is the chief executive of Social Enterprise North West, a business group based in Liverpool.

To prove her point, Jones highlighted a chain of guesthouses called Le Mat. The franchised business is considered a “social enterprise” because it takes the traditional business model of franchises and applies them to philanthropic works.
