Zarraffa’s Coffee Sees Future In Easy-Access Suburban Malls

Franchising.net.au:

Coffee-loving Brisbane suburbanites will have a new venue to enjoy their daily caffeine hit when Zarraffa’s Coffee opens at Greenslopes on 13th September. The IGA Marketplace location fits the trend for the franchise network to move away from larger shopping centres and into smaller suburban precincts.

Zarraffa’s Coffee CEO Kenton Campbell said the move was in line with the growing company trend to make coffee more accessible and the Greenslopes location was a perfect fit. “Our customers have less time to stop for everyday luxuries so we are making it easier for them by searching out store sites that are easily accessible and allow people to literally drive in and drive out. Zarraffa’s move towards successful drive thru sites has prompted a shift from traditional store locations in larger shopping centres to more user-friendly main road convenience mall destinations,” Campbell said.

The rent pressures, rigid leasing agreements, architectural control and shorter trading hours associated with larger shopping centres have also influenced the decision to move into smaller suburban shopping areas.
