Cloning Avivo: Pizzeria Seeks Franchisee

Gene and Tony Suellentrop are hoping to grow their Avivo Brick Oven Pizzeria into a franchise.

The partners — who also are the franchisers of the Gambino’s Pizza chain — recently sold a 50 percent stake in Avivo to local entrepreneur Mui Nguyen.

Today, Avivo has a single location in NewMarket Square at 21st and Maize Road. It’s an upscale concept — Gene Suellentrop calls it “gourmet pizza.”
