Every year La Porchetta, holds a silent auction for charity at its annual conference, and this year the Italian restaurant franchise broke a record, collecting $22,000 for the Children First Foundation.
La Porchetta’s suppliers were invited to offer an item each for auction and their gifts included an iPad2, a laptop, travel and holiday accommodation, a bicycle, a digital photo frame, beauty packs, and signed sport’s team jumpers. The franchise’s support office also pitched in, with one donated gift being the ability to purchase the CEO, Sarah Pantaleo, for a day.
The Children First Foundation brings children to Australia from developing countries for life saving surgery and provides a caring and homely environment while they recover. It also provides medical assistance to disadvantaged Australian children.
