According to a report published on the website, fastcasual.com, UK-based YO! Sushi has signed its first franchise agreement in the U.S. granting its new franchisee the rights to open 10 restaurants in region between Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia. The aim is for the first restaurant to open up in spring 2012.
In an interview, YO! Sushi’s CEO, Robin Rowland, said, “We have had many approaches from all sorts of companies in the U.S. over the years, but have held out for an outstanding partner with the operational and financial capability to grow at a pace. We are also in discussions with several other highly qualified franchise partners for other U.S. territories.â€
