First Maccas’ Franchisee Celebrates Anniversary

The West Australian:

Is the customer always right?

The first McDonald’s franchisee in WA, Norm Sinclair, answers his own question without a moment’s hesitation, “You bet they are”.

“They have a genuine complaint from their perspective and it needs to be talked about immediately,” said the 69-year-old.

“That’s the problem people get into, they walk away from it or they don’t address it in a positive manner.”

McDonald’s Australia, which serves 1.5 million customers a day, is on a publicity drive to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The Golden Arches were first hoisted in Australia in Sydney in 1971.

Mr Sinclair opened the first WA franchise in Cinema City Arcade in Hay Street in 1982.
