When Edward Walsh went to get a loan to open up his first McDonald’s franchise, and the fourth in Connecticut, the bank told him he was crazy.
Fifty years and seven more franchises later, Edward Walsh and his wife, Irene Walsh, proved their doubters wrong. Their business has even out-survived the bank that helped them get started.
With four generations involved, the eight McDonald’s restaurants in Hartford and Tolland counties are a complete Walsh family business.
