McDonald’s Taking On Starbucks In Specialty Coffee Market

McDonald’s Canada has launched its specialty coffee brand across the country, taking on some of the established cafes such as Starbucks.

In launcing its McCafe brand nationally on Monday, it said some Canadians are willing to go to great lengths and make lifestyle sacrifices to keep up a steady supply of their favourite specialty coffee beverage, according to a study conducted by Ipsos Reid for McDonald’s Canada.

The survey says 1.5 million adult Canadians would rather give up a year of retirement than their specialty coffee. About an equal number of Canadians (1.6 million) are also willing to give up their annual vacation to get their jolt of java. Read more.
