American private equity major, Warburg Pincus-backed restaurant operator AmRest Holdings SE, one of the largest franchisees of KFC and Burger King globally, may explore acquisitions to tap into India’s burgeoning food services market, said a top company executive.
Poland-based AmRest operates around 665 fast-food and casual dining chains across Central and Eastern Europe and in the United States, and has strong business ties with fast-food restaurant company, Yum! Brands, which owns and licences brands like KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.
Talking to TOI, Henry McGovern, chairman & CEO, AmRest Holding, said, “I expect we will be a multi-brand operator here in India like we are in other countries.
