BIR Shuts Binalot Restaurant

Business Mirror:

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said it shuttered Binalot Fiesta Foods Restaurant on November 29 for failure to register as a value-added tax (VAT) taxpayer and for not issuing official receipts or sales invoice, among other violations.

Binalot has its principal office at 3841 Daffodil St., Sun Valley Subdivision, Parañaque City. The corporation is a Filipino quick-service restaurant that serves popular Filipino dishes wrapped and served in banana leaves as a substitute to the nonbiodegradable Styrofoam box.

The company was also cited for tax evasion, failure to file income and VAT returns and pay the taxes due, among others.

The closure stemmed from the results of the inspection conducted by officers of Revenue District Office East Pasig.
