International Franchise Association Chairman John “Jack” Earle kicked off the organization’s 12th Annual Public Affairs Conference in the nations capital on Sept. 13 by reminding the nearly 500 attendees that they should carry th| irgjluslry’s message that franchising equals jobs and that pro-growth policies are needed to ensure the ongoing success of the smallbusiness community.

Earle, a McDonald’s multi-unit franchisee, told the audience that House Speaker John Boehner made the choice to invite small-business owners to Washington to provide reaction to the president’s jobs speech rather than giving a response himself. “No one wants to hear from me,” said Boehner. “‘But Americans want to hear from job creators such as yourselves about how government tions and uncertainty are holding back your ability to create jobs and get the econoM^f moving again.” Read on.
