Mid’town’s Asterisk Board Adds Calif. Franchisee

Asterisk Financial Inc. in Middletown has added California restaurant franchisee Anand D. Gala to its board of directors.

Gala Corp. is a Costa Mesa, Calif., real estate and restaurant franchise that includes 18 Applebee’s and seven Famous Dave’s barbecue restaurants.

Gala, who is president and CEO, will advise Asterisk’s management as they try to expand their Personal Guarantee Insurance product in the $785 billion U.S. franchising industry.

Anand degree in biology in 1995. Over the years, he has held various executive positions within the restaurant industry.
