Depalma’s Extends Into Asia

Online Athens:

DePalma’s Italian Café is franchising into South Korea, owner Dave Cappi announced Monday.

The 24-year-old Athens restaurant has a deal with a company called Olympic Coliseum, which will become the first franchisee.

Kwansik Lee, the CEO of Olympic Coliseum, became a fan of DePalma’s while his daughter was a student at the University of Georgia, according to Cappi.

“We understand from him that Italian and other international cuisines are quite popular in Seoul at this time,” Cappi said. “It is especially exciting to begin our international growth in a country with such strong ties to the U.S. This is a phenomenal opportunity to spread the word about DePalma’s and about the energetic Athens business community.”
