Kansas City Star:

The Corner Bakery Café is coming to the metro.

A new Overland Park-based franchisee, Café Foods Inc., plans to open five area restaurants in the next three years. It is currently in negotiations for two Overland Park locations with the first opening in late 2012 or early 2013, while the other would open a year after the first.

The partners – Frank Westermajer, Steven Barrett, Ronald Damiana, and Wayne Glasser – also own and operate 31 Hardee’s in Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois through another Overland Park-based company called Westar Foods/West Partners Inc.

Corner Bakery Café, which was founded in 1991, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chain has more than 130 company-owned and franchised locations in 14 states and Washington, D.C.
