Printing Operators Turn To Signage & Visual Graphics To Revive Business
September 24, 2012 by Cris | 0 Comments
As the traditional printing industry continues to gradually decline, an increasing number of print shop businesses are turning to other categories, such as signage and visual graphics, to build new revenue streams.
Recognizing this trend, FASTSIGNS International Inc., the worldwide franchisor of FASTSIGNS® visual communications, signage and graphics centers with 530 locations in eight countries, will for the first time exhibit at GRAPH EXPO 2012 (Booth No. 3957), to be held Oct. 7-10 in Chicago. The company’s goal is to participate in discussions around printing business challenges and educate attendees about opportunities to evolve with new solutions.
In addition to exhibiting, FASTSIGNS will host an exclusive breakfast and lunch program with CEO Catherine Monson at 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on October 8, respectively. Guests who pre-register for the programs will have an opportunity to speak with Monson regarding the company’s franchise conversion program, which allows business owners to add a FASTSIGNS center within their existing business for as little as a $6,000 initial investment.

The top 40 franchises in the food franchise category include Firehouse Subs, Culver’s, Auntie Anne’s, Ground Round, East Coast Wings & Grill, Simple Simon’s Pizza, Hardee’s, Bruegger’s, Papa Murphy’s, Penn Station and other recognizable brands. These franchises fared even better than average, with reported profits that were at least 15 percent higher than the rest of the industry.

‘Little’ Food Franchises Reap Big Success
September 24, 2012 by Cris | 0 Comments
Kumain ka na ba?” (Have you eaten?)
We, Filipinos, never fail to ask this of guests in our house, it is almost like a greeting. Indeed, food has been ingrained in our culture.
From the lechon being star of the town fiesta, to coffee shops and restaurants being the preferred meeting spot for friends and family, there’s no doubt that Filipinos love to eat. This is probably also why food businesses have become lucrative in the country.
However, starting them is not all a piece of cake. As with any business venture, there is always risk of losing whatever capital you’ve put in due to the changing tastes of customers.
Then, there are those big, established names in the local food world always threatening to take your patrons away. This is exactly why franchising is the less risky way of gaining big success in the food service business. More.

In Nation’s Restaurant News’ second annual Consumer Picks survey, thousands of diners chose Texas Roadhouse Inc. as the nation’s top steakhouse. The Louisville, Ky-based company also trumped the competition in three main categories – food quality, value and menu variety.
“There is no greater honor than when consumers brag about us,” said Kent Taylor, founder and CEO of the 385-unit Texas Roadhouse. “This is a testament to our meat cutters who hand cut our steaks each and every day in every single Texas Roadhouse restaurant.
