Executive Care Announces Nationwide Expansion Through New Franchising Initiative

September 21, 2012 by Cris | 0 Comments

ParamusPost.com:

Fate can strike entrepreneurs in the strangest of ways. Just ask Lenny Verkhoglaz and Mila Feldman, a married couple whose unexpected Valentine’s Day experience nearly a decade ago has given way to a successful business venture now expanding nationwide. Today, the couple announced that it is launching a strategic franchise expansion plan for Executive Care, the renowned Northern New Jersey-based home healthcare business established in 2004 and recognized throughout its home region and South Florida for its quality and compassion. “Cupid’s arrow really struck us in an unforeseen way that Valentine’s Day,” remembers Feldman.

“One of our elderly neighbors was alone in her home after her daughter went on vacation — she needed a helping hand. My husband Lenny and I offered to stay with her and spent Valentine’s in her home helping her out, sleeping on a floor mattress in case she needed help in the middle of the night. That experience transformed us.” Continue reading.

September 21, 2012 by Cris | 0 Comments

Business Review Canada:

Only five years after opening its first location, Red Mango, America’s #1 Zagat-rated frozen yogurt and smoothies chain, has announced its 200th store will open in The Woodlands, Texas this month.

Located at 10868 Kuykendahl Road in The Woodlands Crossing Shopping Center, the store welcomes customers in a few days, and will champion many honors for the fast-growing chain. In addition to being the 200th location, the newest Red Mango will feature eight yogurt machines serving 16 different flavors, the most of any Red Mango location in North America.

The store also graduates franchise owner Jay Randle to the title of multi-unit owner/operator. As one of the first people to introduce the brand to the greater Houston area, Randle is part of a growing Houston presence and larger franchising story that has expanded Red Mango from coast to coast.

“When it’s a great product like Red Mango, everything is right,” says Randle, who opened his first Red Mango at the Market Street Shopping Center at 9595 Six Pines in The Woodlands in 2009.

Franchising Picks Up In US, But Hurdles Remain

September 20, 2012 by Mark | 0 Comments

Reuters:

Robert Penney has seen his financial future and it involves heaps of frozen yogurt.

Penney and his wife, Dayna, purchased a Menchie’s franchise, offering self-serve frozen yogurt, in Bellingham, Washington, in July 2011. They expect the business, open since April, to be profitable its first year.
It better be.

“We basically had to put our life on the line,” said Penney, 44, a former corporate engineer. He declined to provide details about how much was invested but said a typical Menchie’s requires $350,000 to $400,000. The couple drew on personal savings and a credit line against their home.

Franchise Investment: All You Need Is Love?

September 20, 2012 by Mark | 0 Comments

Franchising.net.au:

It is now 45 years since the Beatles, in the world’s first live global television link, informed 400 million people in 26 countries that “all you need is love”. It’s a powerful slogan with a simple message and universal appeal.

Why then the question mark? Is love not all you need? Well, in the business context, probably not. Indeed, from the perspective of a prospective franchisee, definitely not.

Love, and its associated emotion – passion – underpin personal relationships. To some extent they are also the drivers of successful entrepreneurs. Richard Branson, the entrepreneurs’s entrepreneur, has written that “If you can indulge your passion, life will be far more interesting than if you are just working. You’ll work harder at it and you’ll know more about it”. More.

I want you to ignore every pre-conceived notion you have about franchising for a few minutes. Pretend that it’s your first time learning about the franchise model. Be at one with the newness of it. Deal?

Let’s say that you’re the owner of a dog-training business. Your business has been growing steadily since you started it, 4 years ago. You’ve hired more people every year, and you’re thinking of expanding, especially since an ideal commercial space recently opened up in an industrial park two suburbs over. With Turnaround Complete Jamba Juice Shares Have Multi-Bagger Potential

September 19, 2012 by Mark | 0 Comments

Seeking Alpha:

For the past three and a half years, Jamba Inc (JMBA) has been working on a rigorous corporate transformation from smoothie shop to healthy, active lifestyle brand. Since taking his role as CEO in late 2008, Mr. White has increased Jamba’s adjusted operating margin by 190% (from 8.5% to 24.7% as of Q2 2012). And more importantly, Jamba is on pace to be profitable for the first time since its IPO in 2012.

Below are the 4 key growth catalysts for Jamba in 2012.

Integration Of Talbot Teas This Fall
Jamba acquired Talbott Teas, a Chicago based premium tea company, on February 17 of this year. Since then Jamba has been relatively quiet about how it will integrate the acquisition. In my interview with Mr. White he mentioned “we will be rolling out a Talbott Teas product line into stores this fall.” This could be a huge addition to Jamba’s business model and be used to increase margins as well. Full post.
