Job Fair For Entrepreneurs Draws Interest

CantonRep.com:

CANTON Job seekers looking for something a little out of the mainstream found plenty to see Thursday during the Stark County District Library’s Job Fair for Entrepreneurs.

The fair was set up for people who want to work in a home-based business.

“A lot of people have different needs for working,” said Renee Williams, the library staffer who set up the fair.

More than 1,000 people attended a job fair that she had set up in March with large businesses. Thursday’s numbers weren’t as great, but “Some people need an alternative job,” Williams said. “This is home-based business.

“It’s a good way to connect people in the community they might not have a chance to connect with.”

Amber Domenico, of Louisville, was shopping for home-based opportunities. She was a stay-at-home mom until her son started school this year. “So I’ve been going to job fairs and (looking) online.

“If I could find something at home, that would be great,” she said. “Maybe something with computers – not necessarily selling.”

After about an hour of looking around she said, “There are a lot of different things that I like,” but “there’s still a lot of selling.”
