MonaVie (www.monavie.com), maker of the premier blend of the Brazilian acai berry, announces that Erik Weihenmayer, one of only 100 mountaineers to climb the Seven Summits, will be the keynote speaker at the 2008 MonaVie International Convention on September 20.

As one of the world’s most inspirational athletes, Weihenmayer became the only blind man in history to reach the summit of the world’s highest peak, the 29,000-foot Mount Everest, in May 2001. Weihenmayer has also scaled the 3,000-foot rock face of El Capitan, skied down the tallest peak in Europe, and guided blind Tibetan teenagers as high as 21,500 feet on the north side of Mount Everest.

“We are pleased to bring such an inspiring and talented athlete to speak at MonaVie’s international convention,” says MonaVie Founder and President Dallin Larsen. “Erik’s amazing story and personal drive to accomplish his goals is moving, and we look forward to his message on reaching your goals and believing in your dreams.”

Weihenmayer is an accomplished paraglider, skier, rock climber, wrestler and mountaineer. While teaching the importance of a “rope team,” he enlivens audiences with his ability to harness the power of adversity. The 2008 MonaVie International Convention will be held September 17-20, and is open to all MonaVie distributors.
