Irish Eyes Are Smiling On Prime Pubs

Franchising.com:

The Prime Pubs of America, Inc. and franchisee, Mike Dizinno, will open the second of Dizinno’s five traditional Irish pubs in Arizona by mid February. The Toronto, Canada-based chain is a division of the $400 million dollar multi-concept operator, Prime Restaurants. Prime Pub’s steady growth shows no signs of slowing with 60 store openings planned across North America within the next four years, including five in Canada and five in the United States by 2009. The chain plans to open three more U.S. locations in the first quarter of 2009 in Buffalo, New York, Tucson, Arizona and Columbus, Ohio.

Dizinno opened his first location under the Prime Pub trademark, D’Arcy McGee’s, this past May in Tempe, Arizona and is currently working on his next store in Oro Valley, a suburb of Tucson, to open in February of 2009. Prime Pubs will introduce the first and only traditional Irish Pub to the Tucson area offering a wide range of international drafts, fine whiskeys, scotches, wines, premium cocktails and authentic Irish food. Dizinno is hoping to open his third restaurant in the West Valley or the Scottsdale area of Phoenix. All five D’Arcy McGee locations should be up and running by 2012.

“Our Tempe location is doing excellent,” says Dizinno. “The most important thing is our authentic Irish menu – it’s a relatively new concept for this part of the country and is going over very well. We don’t have many traditional Irish pubs in Arizona, maybe five throughout the entire state of seven million people, so we have been very well received by the community.”
