Sex Toys And Man Talk

kentnewsnet.com:

The girls-only event, beginning at 9 p.m. in the Rathskeller, is designed to keep the focus on healthy body images for women.

“One thing we want to stress with the sex toy party is women must be comfortable with their body,” said Ashleigh Newberry, vice president of programming and development for Kent Interhall Council. “You can’t have sex, or you shouldn’t have sex, until you are completely comfortable with yourself.”

The sex toy party, like Sextoberfest itself, is not focused 100 percent on sex. It also aims to promote a positive body image for women and to help them find their “inner sexy passion diva.”

To do that, the party will feature Valeah Kennedy, a leading consultant for Passion Parties, “the premier sensual products, party plan company in the United States and Canada.”

Although the party is about promoting positive body image, the sex toys add a fun element to the night, Newberry said.

Sex toys will not only be a part of the program, but will be available for purchase at the end of the program.

She said when KIC brought up the idea of a sex toy party at a general council meeting, some members opposed the idea and wondered if there was a different way to promote body image without toys.

” … but it isn’t all about the toys,” she said. “They are there to show the girls it is okay to feel sexy.”

Men should not be offended, as there will be a “man talk” across the hall at the Cyber Café to discuss the roles of men in healthy relationships. It will feature advice on what men should say or do, but also the top things men should not say or do.
