More Than Just Makeup

The MidWeek News:

Eileen Fricke doesn’t sell Mary Kay because she needs the money, or because she enjoys the new Cadillacs the company gives her every two years. Though those perks are nice, of course, Fricke does it because she truly believes in what the company stands for, including the work the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation (MKACF) does for cancer research and anti-domestic violence programs and organizations.

Fricke, who has suffered from domestic abuse in the past, and has worked with several shelters and advocates in the area feels a need to make a difference in any way she can. Given her connection to Mary Kay, it seemed logical for her to use her skills and resources to raise funds for local charities and the MKACF.

Fricke has committed to donating $3 to the foundation for every face she makes over. Her goal is 300 faces, and she has already done 180 of them. She also donates 10 percent of her sales revenue back to the foundation.

In addition to her own contributions, she is training 200 other consultants to raise funds in a similar fashion. Many of them donate to the MKAFC, but some raise the money and donate to other charities that move them, including ones for Alzheimer’s and diabetes research.
