Neighbors Connect In Business

Suburban Newspapers:

Their business card should really read “Have Camera, Will Travel”.

They both decided that their experience was enough to start their own photography business, Moments Photography.

Maahs is a stay-at-home mom and says she has always had a passion for photography. Reed is a probation officer who says she also enjoys taking pictures.

Between the two they have enough photo equipment to open their own studio but they wanted to offer a service to make it easier for families to have pictures taken.

Maahs explained that is why they go to the client’s home, or anywhere they want it to be taken, for the photo shoot.

“We talked about it for some time,” Maahs said. “And we decided to offer our service to take pictures where people wanted them taken at.”

Its easier, she laughed, to move the husband off a couch during a football game and have the picture taken in the home, then to drag him to a studio and away from the entire game.

Eventually the two would like to open a studio in Waverly, but agreed that they needed to see how business went.

“I’d love to have a studio with all types of props and stuff,” Reed said. “But what we are doing is unique and we try to make a personal, fun, and convenient for people.”
