The Dickinson College Sylvan Learning Center has closed.
The college operated the center as a franchisee, providing tutoring and college test prep services to area students.
“Given the state of the economy, it made no sense to continue the program,†said Christine Dugan, the college’s director of media relations.
Dugan said the employees of the center were moved to other positions with the college, which is focusing its efforts on the Dickinson College Children’s Center off Orange Street. That facility provides child care for children ages 0-5 of faculty, staff and students.
