The location is 1549 41st Ave., formerly home to Tiny’s Family Restaurant. Tiny’s closed in 2006 after 29 years of business, leaving a vacancy in the Kings Plaza Shopping Center. The contractor is Levica Builders of Anaheim, which specializes in restaurants.

“With the cooperation of the Ow family and the city of Capitola, we’ve been able to restore a classic 1965 building into a modern-day IHOP,” said franchise owner Eric Kouba of the Landmark Restaurant Group.

He plans to start hiring in mid-March for 20 full-time and 30 part-time positions.

“We have an in-house training staff we are really proud of,” he said.
