Customers at two of the UK’s busiest motorway service stations will be able to top up on their grocery shopping after supermarket chain Waitrose announced details of a franchise deal.
Oxford Services on the M40 will be the first to boast one of the 2,500 sq ft shops, with the opening date set for May 1. This will be followed two weeks later with the opening of the second store at South Mimms on the M25.
The stores will offer more than 850 lines and operate from 7am until 10pm, 365 days a year, and Waitrose hopes that the deal with Welcome Break will draw in an additional nine million customers.
