Pixazza: Price Tags on Every Photo

As if there weren’t enough ads already on the internet (including this website, I know!), a new startup called Pixazza, founded by former Netscape employees and partially funded by Google wants to turn every photo on the web into an advertisement for the contents of the photo. If the photo includes a pair of sunglasses, for example, mousing over them will reveal a price tag and a list of web retailers that offer the products.

Will this technology save sites like Flickr, that are incredibly popular but surprisingly unprofitable?
