Mary Kay Brings Girl Time And Personal Growth

DailyComet.com:

Beaming smiles, right hands in the air, the women recite together the words that bind them.

“Deep down inside, my blood runs pink,” chant the independent beauty consultants from Mary Kay.

They’ve come from throughout the area after a week of selling lipstick, face lotion and other products from their cars and homes and have assembled for their weekly sales meeting.

Or pep rally.

Amid recognition of sales figures, grandmothers and moms with new babies dance the cha-cha, yell chants of support and hustle in a Conga line, singing about the company’s coveted sales prize, the famed pink Cadillac.

The women who work for the Dallas-based company say their direct-sales job is about more than peddling lipstick and eye cream.

Mary Kay helped Houma’s Debby Nezat “think bigger than I had been conditioned to think,” said Nezat, 54, a future executive senior sales director with the company who says she’s brought in as much as $13,000 a month in the program.
