College Grads Get Comfy With Invention

Nashua Telegraph:

Most guys hanging around a college dorm room playing video games are more likely to come up with pizza toppings than an award-winning invention. But those guys aren’t Andy Goetting and Tyler Price.

What started as a late-night, “wouldn’t-it-be-cool” musing has turned into a potentially lucrative business venture for the recent college grads with their invention of the SlouchBack: an inflatable micro-suede covered pillow that turns a bed into a couch in less than 30 seconds.

The invention, which retails for about $100 and comes in a variety of fashion colors, solves the problem of how to make the most of small, cramped spaces, like dorm rooms and how to cram as many people as possible into the small spaces comfortably. It also has fancy, insulated cupholders.

“I want to inspire and encourage other kids to have that entrepreneurial spirit,” Goetting said. “I highly recommend this to anybody who has an idea. Even if you think it’s a crazy idea. The only way you are going to know is if you shut up and just do it. Don’t waste time sitting around and thinking about it. Because when it’s all said and done, you’ll end up an older guy who wanted to do something and never did.”
