Crushing economic pressure on your business, unrelenting competition, crazy work hours, downsizing, slashed budgets, uncertainty. Almost every organization has been trying to do more with less lately, and it’s taking a toll. Executives and middle managers alike are exhausted by their brutal schedules and the intense demands on them. Business leaders may be relieved to be working at all, but they’re stressed out, anxious and sleep deprived. The result? Health problems, deteriorating relationships and weakened job performance.

Sit down and first think about how your response to stress effects the team below you, does your response make others feel worried, stress or maybe even threatened? Your response to stress has to be in a way that it provides a sense of security to the rest of your team, lets them know that you can handle what ever comes your way at work and you will be strong for them.

Pay attention to the patterns that you follow when your stressed whether it be you getting overly emotional, angry or introverted. Be aware of these patterns so that in the future when your stressed you can recognize that and change the patterns that are fueling your stress.

I know several people claim that regular exercise can be very helpful and I’m sure you have your doubts about this, but it is absolutely true. A regular exercise program is a wonderful way to get rid of some of that excess tension and stress. So get out to the gym or out on your street by your house and get moving, you don’t have to have an elaborate exercise routine for it to be effective, simply running for 20 minutes is enough to clear your head and body of toxins.
